# Emergencies - What to do

## Small Animal

With pets, there are sadly always emergencies when something unforeseen happens. The main thing is not to panic!

At Vet On A Bike we have teamed up with a fantastic small animal emergency veterinary team called **Veteris**. Remaining true to our independent spirit, Veteris is also an independent practice, but they specialise in emergencies.

They have a fantastic group of emergency and critical care trained Vets and Veterinary Nurses. They provide the following:

1. **A dedicated, free of charge phone triage and first aid advice line.** This number is **0204 6529 839**
2. **A dedicated mobile emergency unit** (Veteris Mobile) which operates within Greater London inside the M25.
3. **3 physical intensive care units:**
    - Veteris Shoreditch (51 Hoxton Square N1 6PB)
    - Veteris Clapham (2 Pensbury Street SW8 4JT)
    - Veteris Twickenham (5 Church Street, Twickenham TW1 3NJ)

As well as highly trained Emergency and Critical Care teams, these fantastic facilities are equipped with state of the art imaging modalities, surgical theatres, Intensive Care Units, separate dog and cat areas, isolation units and much more.

One thing to note is that they are unable to provide an ambulance service. However, **Whiskers and Beans** provide ambulance transfers for critically ill patients with an on board comprehensive ICU and oxygen delivery service. Whilst in the ambulance, your pet will be monitored by qualified Veterinary Nurses, specially trained to manage the transfer of critically ill patients. Their numbers are: **07354 517244** or **07933 801584**
